Brickworks Friday Harbor
Brickworks in Friday Harbor gets its own special little page.
Our trike groups range from 15 to 30 people: Old friends from across the continent who see each other every one or two years -often, our revelry can be a bit loud for other restaurant guests, so it’s fun to have a large non-commercial space where we can be a bit…well… loud and boisterous! Brickworks is a beautiful rental hall with a small, but well-stocked commercial kitchen where we prepare one or two breakfasts and a welcoming dinner for our friends. It’s also handy to gather everybody together for breakfast and a route-wrap before heading out in the morning. And, if you don’t want to be bothered with clean up, Brickworks’ manager can arrange a dishwasher to get everything tidied up for you!
The island has some great purveyors such as
Island Wines David and Kathryn will handle your need for spirits! Super nice and incredibly-accommodating, they are a model of hospitality.
Kings Market is a charming throwback grocery store with pretty much everything you need to complete your meal.
Bakery San Juan has been talked about on other pages (especially, if you need a picnic lunch for your ride to the Cattle Point Lighthouse or Lime Kiln State Park), but they’re a fantastic source for delicious dinner breads or -in our case- when we wanted to make pizza but didn’t have time to make dough…..we bought dough!
Westcott Bay Shellfish is our favorite lunch spot on the Island, but you can also pre-order the world’s best oysters, mussels and clams for your stew, BBQ or pasta!
New Hannah Farm has an incredible offering of fresh produce.
It goes without saying there’s unbelievably fresh fish on the island. We’ve heard good things about Matt’s Fish.
Oh, and if you left your car on the mainland, Becky Rhodes at Salish Sean Island Cabs is a real life saver. Call or email her (360 378 6777 or salishseasislandcabs@gmail.com) and she’ll pick up your order and stock the fridge at Brickworks for you (tip her well. She’s worth it!).
